Water Filters
I am looking at buying a water filter from http://ecoloblue.com/
It is basically an upgraded dehumidifier with filters. 1300$ ....not cheap I want a water filter that i can run off solar power ..wind ..that is portable so i can use it at home and on a boat...and is not reliant on the main grid of water electricity supply and power. Does anyone have any recommendation s..comments on the ecoloblue...good bad ..... It would be great to come across one that not as expensive... Thanks TJ |
Re: Water Filters
Filters or generators?
No experience with a water generator. Those always make me think of the moisture farmers in star wars on tatooine. For water filters, that don't require any electricity. I like the aquarain. |

Aquarain? It is american made, 404 stainless steel, has a higher purity rating on the filter media, the media last longer than the berkey, and the filters are cheaper. |

Belt and suspenders here?
I have a Optimus Nova Backpacking stove, great on the trail, and would be perfect for disinfecting water. I am thinking of getting an ultraviolet water purifier - the Steripen Journey. Question, if I can boil water with my stove, then is there really any need for the ultraviolet water purifier? I thought if you boiled water long enough, all the microbes (cryptosporidium, viruses, bacteria, and Giardia. It is also effective against travel pathogens that cause diarrhea, dysentery, hepatitis, Legionnaires disease, and other germs such as Bird flu, Strep, Staph, influenzas, Salmonella, and E. coli) will die. |
Re: Water Filters
Have a question....what about using colloidal silver to purify water (i.e., kill harmful crap by adding small amount of CS to water) after some type of basic filtering, like though coffee filters? is this viable??
- thanks |

I'm not a big fan of using colloidal silver for internal consumption but this is one area I will let it slide. Much better off using high doses of vit D to boost the immune system than loading down the body with silver. Google search Bill Sardi and Vitamin D |

This was the episode (correctly) deemed to be the most suitable to be filmed first in the Star Wars series. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wa...IV:_A_New_Hope |

British Berkefeld Super Sterasyl Ceramic Filter http://www.stevequayle.com/GG.Images...syl.filter.gif Composition of the Sterasyl ceramic contains pure silver. This silver is a specially formulated self-sterilizing (bacteriostatic) agent. The result is that bacterial growth is prevented from occurring within the Sterasyl ceramic element (which is possible with the other ceramic filter elements.) More importantly, bacterial "grow-through" is eliminated. This silver content is about 0.07%, which is well within the allowable levels recommended by the World Health Organization and the E.P.A. Because of the silver, Sterasyl filter elements do not require sterilization after cleaning. |
